The laboratory activities of the project “The Diaries of Happiness” have concluded, carried out by the second classes of the Secondary School of the Comprehensive State Institute of Calimera, Caprarica di Lecce, and Martignano, as part of the National Plan Cinema and Images for School, promoted by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education and Merit. Fluid Produzioni oversaw the production of the feature film.
The objective was to help students develop greater awareness of the use of media and audiovisual languages, both as an expressive and educational tool, and as a means to tell their own stories through a journey of understanding their emotions and feelings. It is a collective narrative made up of authentic testimonies aimed at conveying the emotions, doubts, and hopes of today’s adolescents.
The project was structured with a series of workshops, from written word to filmed image, from paper diary to audiovisual diary. The workshop path, active from November to May 2025, was designed and implemented by directors Davide Barletti (who oversaw the scientific direction), Claudia Mollese, and Renato Chiocca, in collaboration with the film production company Fluid Produzioni, the Open social cooperative of Parco Palmieri, and the Library of Happiness in Martignano, with the Elio cinema in Calimera and the partnership of the DAMS of the University of Salento. It actively involved students, teachers, film industry professionals, and cultural operators in an immersive experience between cinematic language, writing, filming, and post-production.

At the heart of the project was the realization of the feature film “The Diaries of Happiness,” a first-person narrative of emotions, dreams, and words through the diary and self-narrative form. A subjective perspective useful for tracing a geography of feelings. The film, directed by Davide Barletti, Claudia Mollese, and Renato Chiocca, with editing by Mattia Soranzo, explores the relationship that young people have with themselves, their relationships, and their territory, fostering emotional education in schools through cinema.
The film took the form of a collective work, created in the first person by the students using narrative devices such as the small OSMO cameras, which had already been tested by the artistic directors in previous projects. The film’s premiere is scheduled for September 2025.
